In 1953, Just Born acquired the Rodda Candy Company, the original makers of the popular, 3-D marshmallow chicks.
The first PEEPS & COMPANY Retail Store opened in National Harbor in 2009 to showcase all of Just Born’s candy brands and branded merchandise.
In 2016, fans voted the PEEPS Chick as the Official First Sign of Spring.

DID YOU KNOW? Before Just Born mechanized the marshmallow forming process in 1954, it took 27 hours to produce one marshmallow chick by hand, with a pastry tube!
